“To those leaning on the sustaining infinite today is big with blessings”. This statement from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, page vii:1, explains just what a Christian Science Practitioner does. When asked for prayerful support from anyone, we immediately turn to God as our source for everything. This includes, but is not limited to, health, life, sustenance, and above all, love. Our prayers are affirmations that we were, and are, created in the image and likeness of our Father-Mother-God. That God is Love. That God is omnipotent, supreme.

When asked for treatment through prayer, Christian Science Practitioners do ask for a fee, usually per treatment or per day. We do this, because Christian Science Practitioners are not financially supported by their church; as are priests, ministers and the like. We do not preach in our churches and we are not clergy. When a healing takes place it is the recognition of the omnipotence of God, and to him goes all the glory.
